     <dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">L’activité électrique cérébrale, enregistrée notamment par électroencéphalographie, se compose d’oscillations et d’une composante apériodique. Longtemps négligée et considérée comme du bruit, cette dernière suit une distribution en 1/f, où la puissance décroît avec la fréquence. Aujourd’hui réévaluée, l’activité apériodique joue un rôle clé dans l’estimation fiable des oscillations, ainsi que dans le développement, la perception, la cognition et diverses pathologies. Elle pourrait refléter des mécanismes neuronaux fondamentaux, notamment l’équilibre excitation/inhibition. Ce projet de thèse examine cette activité sous trois angles : clinique, méthodologique et neurophysiologique. Le premier axe l’explore dans la maladie de Parkinson lors d’une tâche cognitive. Le second interroge son impact sur l’estimation de la connectivité fonctionnelle. Enfin, la dernière étude évalue la possibilité de la moduler via stimulation transcrânienne. Ce travail souligne l’intérêt de prendre en compte l’activité apériodique pour affiner l’analyse des dynamiques cérébrales, mieux comprendre ses implications fonctionnelles et identifier les mécanismes sous-jacents. Il ouvre des perspectives pour les biomarqueurs, l’étude des réseaux cérébraux et les effets des techniques de neuromodulation.</dcterms:abstract>
     <dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">Brain electrical activity, recorded notably through electroencephalography, comprises oscillatory signals and an aperiodic component. Long overlooked and considered as noise, the latter follows a 1/f distribution, where power decreases with frequency. Now being re-evaluated, aperiodic activity plays a key role in the reliable estimation of oscillations, as well as in development, perception, cognition, and various pathologies. It may reflect fundamental neural mechanisms, particularly the excitation/inhibition balance. This doctoral project investigates aperiodic activity from three perspectives: clinical, methodological, and neurophysiological. The first explores it in Parkinson’s disease during a cognitive task. The second examines its impact on functional connectivity estimation. Finally, the third study assesses the possibility of modulating it through transcranial stimulation. This work emphasizes the importance of accounting for aperiodic activity to refine the analysis of brain dynamics, better understand its functional implications, and identify its underlying mechanisms. It opens new perspectives for biomarker development, brain network analysis, and the study of neuromodulation effects.</dcterms:abstract>
