     <dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">Actuellement, seules l’échographie et l’EMG à l’aiguille permettent l’acquisition de l’état de contraction de muscles profonds. Cependant, l’échographie est difficile à utiliser en cas de mouvement, et l’EMG, invasive, requiert un geste médical, ce qui les rend peu adaptées à une utilisation en cabinet de kinésithérapie. Aussi, dans cette thèse, avons nous investigué le développement d’une méthode visant à identifier les contractions spécifiques de chaque muscle d’une zone anatomique donnée à partir de signaux de surface (sEMG). Dans ce travail, la zone abdominale et la zone abdomino-pelvienne ont été considérées. Pour la première, les performances de classification se sont révélées très satisfaisantes (supérieures à 71%) pour trois des quatre muscles de cette zone, à savoir les muscles grand droit, oblique externe et transverse abdominal. Pour la seconde, les performances de classification sont tout aussi comparables (supérieures à 75,5%) pour les muscles du plancher pelvien et le muscle transverse abdominal. De même, les corrélations entre les signaux reconstruits et ceux de référence pour le transverse abdominal et les muscles du plancher pelvien s’avèrent extrêmement correctes. La méthode proposée dans cette thèse, particulièrement prometteuse, s’est vue intégrée dans un dispositif médical en cours de commercialisation. Elle offre, du reste, la possibilité d’être appliquée à d’autres zones anatomiques, comme les muscles de la hanche ou du dos.</dcterms:abstract>
     <dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">Currently, only ultrasound and needle EMG enable the assessment of deep muscle contraction. However, ultrasound is challenging to use during movement, and EMG is invasive, requiring a medical procedure, which makes both methods unsuitable for routine use in physiotherapy. This thesis focuses on developing a method to identify specific contractions of individual muscles in a given anatomical region using surface signals (sEMG). The abdominal and abdomino-pelvic regions were investigated. For the abdominal region, classification performance was highly satisfactory (above 71%) for three of the four muscles: the rectus abdominis, external oblique, and transverse abdominis. For the abdomino-pelvic region, classification performance was similarly strong (above 75.5%) for the pelvic floor muscles and transverse abdominis. Additionally, the correlations between the reconstructed signals and reference signals for the transverse abdominis and pelvic floor muscles were excellent. The method developed in this thesis is highly promising and has already been integrated into a commercially available medical device. Furthermore, it has potential applications for other anatomical regions, such as the hip and back muscles.</dcterms:abstract>
