Certaines femmes, en rupture de suivi, méconnaissent les compétences des médecins généralistes dans ce domaine. Dans cette étude, nous avons souhaité quantifier l’information que les femmes avaient quant à la possibilité de réaliser leur suivi gynécologique par un généraliste. Méthodologie : Étude épidémiologique descriptive menée dans des cabinets de médecine générale et Centres de Santé Sexuelle d’Ille-et-Vilaine, incluant des femmes majeures, interrogées par questionnaire de novembre 2022 à mars 2023. Résultats : 289 questionnaires ont été analysés. 67,1% des femmes interrogées connaissaient la possibilité du suivi gynécologique par un médecin généraliste. Les facteurs principaux influençant la connaissance de ce suivi étaient l’âge et le niveau d’étude. Les femmes interrogées bénéficiaient d’un suivi gynécologique pour 84,4% d’entre elles. La proposition active du médecin traitant de réaliser le suivi de ses patientes, tout comme le fait d’être informée d’une possibilité de suivi par le médecin généraliste, influençaient significativement le fait de bénéficier d’un suivi gynécologique. Conclusion : Un tiers des femmes interrogées ne possédait pas l’information de la possibilité d’un suivi gynécologique par un médecin généraliste. Il est nécessaire que l’information auprès des femmes des acteurs potentiels en matière de prévention soit renforcée. Bien qu’il joue un rôle majeur dans la prévention et dans la coordination des soins, la transmission d’information n’est pas que l’affaire du médecin traitant. Celle-ci pourrait également être relayée à travers les autres professionnels de santé et renforcée par les pouvoirs publics. Background: The demographics of medical gynecologists have been declining for several years. Some women, disconnected from follow-up care, are unaware of the skills of general practitioners in this field. In this study, we aimed to quantify the information women had regarding the possibility of having their gynecological follow-up conducted by a general practitioner. Methodology: A descriptive epidemiological study conducted in general practitioner offices and Sexual Health Centers in Ille-et-Vilaine, involving adult women surveyed by questionnaire from November 2022 to March 2023. Results: 289 questionnaires were analyzed. 67.1% of the women surveyed were aware of the possibility of gynecological follow-up by a general practitioner. The main factors influencing knowledge of this follow-up were age and level of education. The surveyed women received gynecological follow-up for 84.4% of them. The active proposal by the treating physician to conduct follow-up for their patients, as well as being informed of the possibility of follow-up by a general practitioner, significantly influenced the uptake of gynecological follow-up. Conclusion: One-third of the surveyed women did not possess the information regarding the possibility of gynecological follow-up by a general practitioner. It is necessary to reinforce information to women about potential actors in prevention. Although general practitioners play a major role in prevention and care coordination, information transmission is not solely the responsibility of the treating physician. It could also be disseminated through other healthcare professionals and reinforced by governmental authorities.
