     <dcterms:abstract xml:lang="fr">Introduction : La dénutrition hospitalière est fréquente, car elle est associée à plus de complications et à une mortalité augmentée. Les patients diabétiques sont à plus haut risque de dénutrition. Pourtant, peu d’études ont étudié le phénotype de la dénutrition dans cette population. Méthodes : Nous avons mené une étude observationnelle rétrospective incluant les patients suivis par l’Unité Transverse de Nutrition du CHU de Rennes. Résultats : 231 patients ont été inclus, dont 20,3% de patients diabétiques et 83,5% de patients dénutris. Les patients diabétiques n’étaient pas plus sévèrement dénutris que le reste de la population (83,0 % vs 83,7%, p = 0,91) mais ils avaient un indice de masse maigre mesuré par bioimpédancemétrie augmenté (15.5±4.1 vs 17.9±3.4 kg/m², p &lt; 0.0001) mais une force musculaire diminuée (64.3% vs 45.6%, p=0.03). En analyse multivariée le diabète était associé à une mortalité plus élevée (OR = 2.33 [0.96 ; 5.62], p=0,06). Discussion : La dénutrition est fréquente chez les patients diabétiques. Le phénotype de leur dénutrition étant particulier, la définition de seuils spécifiques pourrait permettre une meilleure prise en charge.</dcterms:abstract>
     <dcterms:abstract xml:lang="en">Introduction: Malnutrition is a major health issue in hospitals because it is associated with more complications and increased mortality. Diabetic patients are at increased risk for malnutrition. However, few studies have investigated the phenotype of malnutrition in this population. Methods: We conducted a retrospective observational study including patients followed by the Nutritional Support Team of CHU Rennes. Results: 231 patients were included, of whom 20.3% were diabetic patients and 83.5% were undernourished patients. Diabetic patients were not more severely undernourished than the rest of the population (83.0 % vs 83.7%, p = 0,91) but had increased muscle mass (15.5±4.1 vs 17.9±3.4 kg/m², p &lt; 0.0001) but decreased strength (64.3% vs 45.6%, p=0.03). In multivariate analysis, diabetes was associated with increased mortality (odds ratio = 2.33 [0.96 ; 5.62], P=0,06). Discussion: Malnutrition in frequent in diabetic patients. The phenotype of malnutrition being particular, the definition of specific thresholds could allow a better management.</dcterms:abstract>
