The axis development was led by BRIO management team along with a committee representing various disciplines within the University having an interest for cancer research. The axis definition focused on cancer research complementary to the SIRIC BRIO and is based mostly on basic and technological research. Five programmes are part of the axis: interaction radiation/living beings, nanotechnologies and innovations, tumor microenvironment, risk and predictions, cell remodelling. 150 scientists from 27 Bordeaux institutes are involved in this project.In addition, BRIO proposes to develop a translational research center at the University. The project would include an optimisation of existing capacities and resources, an improved link with the industry, a dedicated facility built into the “Plan Campus” and a training programme for scientists interested in translational science. The project is also supported by the recently created regenerative medicine institute, which shares the same interests in translational science.Cette présentation a été donnée dans le cadre du Scientific BRIO Day 2 organisé annuellement par le SIRIC BRIO et qui a pour but de réunir tous les acteurs du SIRIC BRIO et plus largement de la cancérologie à Bordeaux.
